Ben Hill Griffin Stadium ‘Won’t Back Down’

Thousands of steps to climb and exercise on continue to draw people to work out at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, home of the Gator football team at the University of Florida.

But as of Friday April 17th, there’s another reason to visit the Swamp to get your sweat on.

“At noon today in The Swamp, we played Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Because we missed you,” a post on the stadium Facebook page reads.

The stadium is open everyday for its normal operational hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“We ask that you please enter and exit the facility through Gate 18,” are the instructions to those visiting the site.

“In order to keep our community healthy and safe we ask that you please abide by the CDC’s social distancing guidelines while visiting Ben Hill Griffin Stadium,” are the instructions to anyone planning to visit. Please be conscientious of other visitors by maintaining a safe distance of at least 6 feet. Please avoid congregating in groups of 10 or more people within the facility.

And a special invite has been extended to all Gator and Petty fans, “On Fridays at noon, we hope you’ll play “I Won’t Back Down” wherever you are, until we can get together again. #GoGators  #WontBackDown .”
