The Lake City and Malcom Randall VA hospitals are offering walk-up vaccine clinics this week to qualifying veterans. The Lake City event runs Monday through Friday, while the Gainesville clinic will run Tuesday through Saturday.

The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System made the announcements Saturday and Monday, respectively. They comes days after the system expanded vaccine access to certain veterans under 65, including those with kidney disease, heart disease, obesity and other high-risk conditions. Veterans 65 and older, at high risk, and essential workers also continue to be eligible.

Both vaccine clinics have 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily schedules. According to the VA, if doses remain at the end of the designated administration period, staff will reach out to eligible veterans on the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System Facebook page.

The Lake City VA Medical Center is located at 619 Marion Avenue in Lake City. Malcom Randall VA Medical Center is located at 1601 SW Archer Road in Gainesville.

No appointments are needed, but veterans do need to be current patients at a VA facility in the region to participate in the walk-up clinics. Veterans also need to be available to return in three weeks for a second dose.

Editor’s note: This story has been updated to include the Malcom Randall VAMC clinic. It was updated again after the Lake City VAMC issued a correction on the clinic end date, which is Saturday.
