Maintenance - Gainesville, FL - Part Time

SIMEDHealth is looking for a Part Time Shuttle Driver for our main Gainesville, FL location.

The hours for this position are: Monday-Friday between the hours of 7am-2pm; up to 30 hours a week.

The SIMEDHealth Shuttle Driver will safely drive a 15 passenger van and transport SIMEDHealth employees from the main SIMEDHealth location to off-site locations utilizing a regular schedule. Additionally, the van driver will be required to schedule and perform routine maintenance on the SIMEDHealth van and operate the van as needed for pre-arranged events.  When not driving the van, the driver will be responsible for other duties assigned by his or her supervisor.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license (required) or commercial driver’s license PREFERRED
  • Driving record with no capital, major, moving or other violations in the last five years REQUIRED
  • High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
  • Minimum 25 years of age or older REQUIRED
  • Ability to exercise judgment and operate under time pressure
  • Must be in physical condition to sit for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, reach, climb stairs and grasp
  • Must be able to safely lift 30 pounds
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing and speaking)
  • Minimally 5 years professional or commercial driving experience (taxi, bus, limo or similar) PREFERRED

The following are duties which may be required of you as a Shuttle Driver:

  • Operate 12-15 passenger shuttle van on a scheduled route between SIMED office locations
  • Operate van on special, pre-arranged event trips or errands
  • Perform daily safety inspections as required.  Fill gas tank when needed
  • Promptly report maintenance issues.  Schedule and perform routine maintenance as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the van
  • Assist SIMED employees on/off the vehicle ensuring safe transport (as needed)
  • Perform other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor
  • Obey all safety and traffic laws
  • Shuttle drivers will be expected to provide annual proof of insurance and a clean driving record
