Bradford Tornadoes rally past Hawthorne

The Bradford Tornadoes rallied from a 25-8 deficit with 20 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to defeat the Hawthorne Hornets 28-25 Thursday night in Starke.

Hawthorne took the early lead with 13 first quarter points, but the Tornadoes answered in the second quarter with an early touchdown and two-point conversion to cut the lead to 13-8, which is how it stayed until halftime.

The Hornets extended their lead in the third quarter with two touchdowns to take a 25-8 lead into the final period.

But in the fourth quarter, the Tornadoes put on a furious rally with three touchdowns of their own to take a 28-25 lead and rally past previously unbeaten Hornets.

The victory gives Bradford a 2-4 record, while Hawthorne falls to 3-1. 

Next week the Hornets are back home against Union County, while Bradford travels to Gainesville to take on PK Yonge.
