Updating Breaking News: Gainesville police arrest two suspects in home invasion

The Gainesville Police Department responded to reports of subjects fighting in the roadway at the 600 Block of NW 4th Avenue last night at approximately 9:40 PM.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined that three men and one female committed a home invasion robbery of a residence at that location.

According to the GPD, a detective was able to view a video from a cell phone of one of the victims, which showed a portion of the robbery as it occurred and allowed the detective to quickly identify a female suspect as Leila Ann Johnson, 25, and a male suspect as Jessie Littles, 30. Both Johnson and Littles were located by GPD officers and arrested within a short period of time and have been booked at the Alachua County Jail.

Both suspects are charged with Robbery/Home Invasion without a firearm, and no bail has been set.

According to the GPD, this investigation is on-going and more arrests are expected.
