The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a crash this evening at approximately 7:18 pm in Dixie County.
According to the FHP report, a Sport Utility Vehicle, driven by a 48-year-old woman from Old Town was traveling north on CR 55A. For unknown reasons, the SUV veered off the roadway and traveled into a ditch, overturning and coming to rest on its left side facing east.
The driver was ejected from the SUV, and was airlifted to Shand’s UF Health in critical condition.
The FHP did not release the name of the driver.
