Updating Breaking News: Two-vehicle crash in Columbia County injures three; one critical

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a two vehicle crash last night at approximately 7 pm on County Road 131 in Columbia County.

Vehicle one, an ATV driven by a 29-year-old man from Lake City, was traveling north on CR131 in order to cross CR 246 when it came to a stop at the stop sign located on CR 131 before proceeding north through the intersection and colliding with vehicle two, an SUV driven by a 52-year-old man from White Springs that was traveling west on CR 264. The front of the ATV collided with the left side of the SUV, causing it to overturn before coming to rest on its right side facing east in the west bound lane of CR 246. The SUV then came to a controlled stop on the north shoulder of CR 246.

The driver of the ATV was transported to a hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the ATV, an 11-year-old girl from Lake City, was also transported to a hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.

This is all the information available at this time. The FHP did not release the names of the driver or passenger.
