UF star guard and Gainesville native Tre Mann announced Wednesday that he’s declaring for the NBA Draft following his All-SEC sophomore season.
“I’d like to thank Coach White and his staff at the University of Florida, for believing in me and helping to shape me into the man and player I am today,” said Mann, who also thanked God and his family for his success. “Thank you to all my teammates who shared the Gator uniform with me for the last two seasons.”
Mann led the Gators with 16.0 points per game and 83 assists this season. SEC coaches voted him first-team all-conference, while the AP named him second-team all-conference.
Mann averaged 20.9 points over his last seven games, including a streak of four straight games scoring more than 20 or more points—the longest by a Gator in the last quarter century. That included a 30-point showing in Florida’s loss to Tennessee in the SEC Tournament.
Earlier this month, Mann led Florida to road wins at Auburn and Kentucky, earning him SEC Player of the Week honors.
The 6-foot-5 combo guard averaged 5.3 points as a freshman last year. ESPN ranks Mann as the 15th-best player in the draft, which the NBA has not yet scheduled.
