Friday’s Game of the Week features two Class 1A football powerhouses when third-ranked Pahokee travels to top-ranked Hawthorne in the 1A-Region 4 final.
The Hornets haven’t lost since last year’s state championship game, where they fell 27-14 to Baker. Hawthorne advanced to the regional finals following a 50-14 home win over Wildwood last Friday and were ranked No. 7 in the final regional power poll for all classifications.
Pahokee (8-1) is on a five-game win streak and defeated Bradford (Starke) last Friday in the regional seminfinals, 38-20. The Blue Devils’ only loss of the season came on Sept. 24 against 8A Palm Beach Gardens, 35-34.
The matchup can be heard on 106.9 I Am Country with Mike Ridaught and Cam Parker calling Stephenson’s Septic Tank Services Game of the Week regional final contest. The pre-game show starts at 7 p.m. followed by kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
The winner of the contest will advance the state semifinal round next Friday.
