Listen live as Gainesville battles Eastside

Records are always thrown out the door when cross-town rivals meet and that will be the case when Gainesville High and Eastside (Gainesville) clash in Friday night’s Game of the Week.

Gainesville (7-2) captured the Class 6A District 4 championship last Friday in a huge road win at St. Augustine. The Hurricanes kicked a game-winning field goal with 20 seconds remaining in the 17-14 victory, which was Gainesville’s third straight win.

Eastside (2-7) enters the game as winners of back-to-back games following an 0-7 start. The Rams beat Santa Fe (Alachua) on the road last Friday, 39-35, after posting a 27-8 home win over Palatka on Oct. 22.
