Car backs over child in Lake City

A car backed over a child Wednesday evening in Lake City.

According to a Lake City Police Department (LCPD) release, officers responded at 6:16 p.m. to 725 SE Baya Drive for a traffic accident involving a child.

When officers arrived, they found that a passenger car backed over a child.

Emergency responders transported the child to an area hospital for further treatment.

LCPD reported the case is under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
