A Fort White man died Saturday when a sedan hit his electric trike on SW Barney Street in Columbia County on Saturday.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 59-year-old Fort White man was driving a 2003 Mini Cooper south on SW Scrubtown Road near SW Barney Street at 4 p.m. when he approached a curve in the roadway to the left. The Fort White man (age unknown) was driving an electric trike north on SW Scrubtown Road attempting to negotiate a curve to the right and a collision occurred between the two vehicles.
Emergency responders transported the cyclist to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
