The Trinity Metropolitan Community Church will hold a grand opening ceremony for its Community Rainbow Bridge Memorial on Saturday, June 28.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. at 11694 SW Archer Rd. in Gainesville.
The memorial was inspired by 7-year-old congregant Antin Young, who dreamed of creating a space where families and individuals could remember and celebrate the lives of beloved pets who have passed away.
The Community Rainbow Bridge Memorial is designed to be an inclusive, tranquil space where the community can honor, celebrate and reflect the unconditional love and companionship of pets who have passed.
“This space is about love, connection, and the bond we share with our pets,” said Rev Catherine Dearlove, senior pastor of Trinity MCC, in a press release. “This memorial is a child’s vision, a community’s love, and a tribute to the pets who have truly been part of our families.”
The opening ceremony will feature words from community leaders and Young, a blessing of the memorial space, and a moment of reflection. All are welcome to bring photos or mementos of their late pets to place at the memorial.
