The three suspects who shot two people at an Arby’s in Lake City on Thursday have been identified and are being held without bond in the Columbia County Detention Facility.
According to a Columbia County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) release sent Friday, the suspects have been identified as 20-year-old David Green, 20-year-old Darion Apiag and 18-year-old Anthony Williams-Loscalzo. All three are from Jacksonville.
On Thursday, the suspects drove two vehicles from Jacksonville to Lake City, with one of the vehicles reportedly stolen from Jacksonville on June 20.
The three traveled to Lake City to target a person, with previous ties to Jacksonville, who was known to them because of an ongoing feud. The targeted adult male was working in Lake City as part of the Department of Corrections’ “Work Release” program and was employed with Arby’s.
The suspects entered the restaurant around 11:30 a.m. and started shooting at the intended target, who retreated to the back of the kitchen area. At the time, a juvenile Arby’s employee who had no prior involvement with the suspects and was attempting to find cover was struck by one of the bullets.
After fleeing the restaurant, the suspects fled north on Interstate 75 from US 90 West with law enforcement in pursuit. During the chase, the suspects threw a firearm and other evidence from the vehicle, which was later recovered Friday morning by a Florida Fish and Wildlife K9 team while detectives were searching for other evidence related to the incident.
The suspects were booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility on Thursday afternoon without bond.
The juvenile victim was released from the hospital on Thursday, while the other victim – the intended target in the shooting – remains in the hospital in serious condition.
