Gainesville police seek suspect who shot teenager

Gainesville police are searching for a suspect who shot a 17-year-old in the thigh early Saturday morning at 50 SW 1st St.

According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) release, officers responded around 2:30 a.m. in downtown Gainesville to the report of a person being shot.

Upon arrival, officers found a 17-year-old victim who was shot in the thigh. Alachua County Fire Rescue transported the victim to a local hospital.

Anyone with information to identify the suspect is asked to call 352-955-1818.
