Upon arrival, the officers found Kinsler and provided medical assistance until the Alachua County Fire Rescue arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital with a reported non-life-threatening injury.

During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Kelvin Baker, 18. Baker was located and taken into custody without incident and was charged with attempted murder.

Further GPD investigation revealed that following the shooting, a second suspect, Hawkins, fled the scene and entered a vehicle occupied by a witness. Hawkins had a firearm and demanded that the witness drive him away from the area. During the encounter, Hawkins threatened the witness and told them not to speak to anyone, placing the witness in fear for their life.

Both Hawkins and Baker are being held without bond at the Alachua County Jail.
