A sedan hit and killed a 65-year-old Cross City man who was walking on US Highway 19 in Dixie County early Saturday morning.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, a 20-year-old Old Town woman was driving a sedan south on US 19 north of SW 95th Street at 2:30 a.m. in the left lane when he struck the Cross City man.
The driver came to a stop south of the collision. She had two passengers in her vehicle, a 22-year-old Old Town man and a 22-year-old Chiefland man.
Emergency responders flew the Cross City man to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where he was later pronounced dead.
