A 56-year-old Gainesville man died Wednesday afternoon when his vehicle went off State Road 121 north of Williston and collided with a tree.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the man was driving a sedan on SR 121 near NE 65th Street at 2:46 p.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.
The Levy County Sheriff’s Office and Levy County Fire Rescue arrived at the scene prior to FHP and located the vehicle on the east side of the road with its front end against a tree.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead on scene.
