The UF Health Shands Oncology Nurse Navigation team has launched a new virtual program, “Navigating Together: Cancer Education & Support Sessions,” intended to expand educational and support services for all types of cancer.
Throughout these bimonthly sessions, patients, survivors, caregivers and friends will learn from UF Health’s multidisciplinary cancer experts about different cancer-related topics and connect with people experiencing similar situations.
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the first session, slated for noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, will focus on lymphedema and breast cancer. Guest speakers for the forum include Dr. Lisa Spiguel, Surgical Oncologist, Section Chief of Breast Surgery, and clinical director of the UF Health Breast Center; and Derly Munoz, Oncology Physical Therapist.
