To maintain public health and safety of our neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Gainesville will host its upcoming Downtown Festival & Art Show and Hoggetowne Medieval Faire as online events.
The Downtown Festival & Art Show is scheduled Nov. 7-8; the Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is scheduled on four days during the course of two weekends in 2021: Jan. 30-31 and Feb. 6-7. Neighbors will be able to participate through their event webpages, GainesvilleDowntownArtFest.org and HoggetowneFaire.com.
The City’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs staff has secured event management platform, Booth Central, to reinvent the Downtown Festival & Art Show as a virtual event this fall where participants will be able to visit artists, view art work and purchase pieces, while local musicians and dance groups perform virtually as community groups, festival sponsors and young artists also engage in virtual chat rooms with online attendees.
