Florida Supervisors of Election offer 3 $1,200 scholarships

The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office, through the Florida Supervisor of Elections (FSE), recently announced that Alachua County college and university students can apply for one of three $1,200 scholarships.

The scholarships are being awarded as part of FSE’s ongoing commitment to education in Florida.

Eligible students must be enrolled as a full-time junior or senior studying political science, public or business administration, or journalism/mass communications. Students must also be registered Florida voters.

Applications are due by March 6 and must be submitted to the Supervisor of Elections of the county in which the student is registered to vote.

Each county will review the applications, conduct interviews and choose one student from its applicants to be considered by the FSE scholarship committee.

The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 515 N. Main St. in Gainesville, and can be reached by phone at 352-374-5252.

Where does the money come from for $1200 scholarships? I’m sure it’s taxpayer’s dollars.
How is that ok? I’m not opposed to helping students go to college but that should be my decision!
Business as usual in liberal Alachua County!!
