  • Robby Pruitt, a FHSAA Hall of Fame coach, resigned as Williston's football coach on Dec. 16, 2025.

On Dec. 16, FHSAA Hall of Fame coach Robby Pruitt stepped down as head coach of the Williston football team.

On Friday, the Red Devils named Cedderick Daniels to replace the new Union County (Lake Butler) football coach as its new head coach for the 2026 season.

“Ultimately, what led to the decision of our administration to hire Coach Daniels as our next head football coach at Williston Middle High School was the fact that he is the right fit for our football program,” said Williston Athletics Director Greg Yancey. “His vision and goals for moving our school and program forward perfectly mirrors ours. Simply, we feel Coach Daniels is the best choice for our student athletes and their future. We are very happy to have him.”

Prior to being a part of three state championships at Hawthorne (2022, 2023 and 2025) as its defensive coordinator, Daniels was a head coach at Eastside.

At the time alum Harold “Gator” Hoskins was hired as the head coach of the Rams in 2022, Eastside hadn’t had a winning season since 2018 when the Rams finished 7-4 and made the Class 5A state playoffs under Daniels.

He is excited about the opportunity and said the Red Devils will look a little different this upcoming season.

“I’m here to win, I’m here to compete,” Daniels said to his new team in a Facebook post. “I’m going to change the offense. We’re going to change it up. We’re going to be more of a spread offense.”
