Florida reports over 10,000 new COVID-19 positive cases for the sixth straight day

The Florida Department of Health reported 10,347 new cases to the Florida COVID-19 Dashboard, bringing the total positive test count to 360,934 cases as of the July 19th report. It is the sixth straight day that 10,000 or more cases were reported.

The FDOH also reported 57,008 new tests from Sunday. The positive rate was 18.15% of the total, according to the report.

Here is a breakdown of the new coronavirus cases reported by the state for the past 10 days:

Statewide hospitalizations are at 20,971, an increase of 292. The state is now releasing numbers on currently hospitalized patients, and as of 11 am, there were 9,452 people hospitalized throughout the state with COVID-19 as their primary diagnosis.

5,072 people have died from the virus in Florida, an increase of 92 over the day before.

Gilchrist County is at 230 – up 13 from yesterday
Columbia County is at 1,372 – up 127 from yesterday.
Levy County is at 375 – up 17 from yesterday.
Bradford County is at 195 – up 5 from yesterday.

In Alachua County towns:

Alachua/LaCrosse/Worthington Springs 161 – up 4 from yesterday.
Archer 50 – no change from yesterday.
Hawthorne 35 – up 2 from yesterday.
High Springs 43 – no change from yesterday.
Micanopy 21 – up 1 from yesterday.
Newberry 117 – up 5 from yesterday.
Waldo 10 – no change from yesterday.
