The Santa Fe College Concert Band will showcase some of the most popular songs in American history — from dance grooves to memorable cinematic tunes — at “Winds Go Pop” on Thursday, Feb. 19.
The free concert will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Lyceum Concert Hall on the Northwest campus (3000 NW 83 St., Bldg. E, in Gainesville).
The Santa Fe Winds, consisting of 21 students, will perform these favorites,
conducted by Associate Professor of Music and Band Director Dr. David Smith.
The night’s repertoire will consist of some of the most memorable music from movie and television history, such as Walt Disney’s “Aladdin,” “The Simpsons,” and selections from “The Black Panther.” In addition, students will perform George Gershwin’s masterpiece from “The Sound of Music” and “Rhapsody in Blue.”
