- St. Johns Country Day and Bishop Snyder are unbeaten at 7-0, holding second and third in the rankings respectively.
- Trenton is undefeated at 9-0 and ranks fifth after beating The Villages and handing Creekside their only loss.
- Buchholz dropped to tenth place after a 3-4 start, while Trinity Catholic moved into the top 10 with a 7-1 record.
As the high school baseball season heads into its second month of the regular season and nears the halfway point, some teams are once again proving to be regulars at the top of The Prep Zone Power Poll.
Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) remains as the No. 1 team in the regional rankings after the first three weeks of the season.
The Conquerors, last year’s 2A state runner-up, are off to a 7-1 start in 2026 with wins over North Marion (Citra), No. 13 Tocoi Creek (St. Augustine), 14th-ranked Beachside (St. Johns), No. 17 Suwannee (Live Oak) and Lowndes (GA), with their only loss coming 2-0 in the second game of the season at now-No. 6 Creekside (St. Johns).
They received three of the nine first-place votes this week.
Right behind them at No. 2 is unbeaten St. Johns Country Day (Orange Park). The Spartans started 7-0 and have beaten No. 7 Providence (Jacksonville), Beachside, Suwannee, Lincoln (Tallahassee) and then-No. 14 University Christian (Jacksonville). St. Johns Country Day also receives three first-place votes.
Bishop Snyder (Jacksonville) moves up two spots to third. The Cardinals are also off to a 7-0 start with wins over Suwannee, Lincoln, Baldwin and No. 20 Fernandina Beach. Bishop Snyder earned two first-place votes this week.
Spruce Creek (Port Orange) is at No. 4, followed by another unbeaten Trenton at No. 5. The Hawks (6-1) handed Creekside their only loss and also defeated Lake Mary and North Marion, with their only loss to No. 11 Bartram Trail (St. Johns).
Trenton is 9-0 to start with, its biggest win coming against RV (receiving votes), The Villages.
Creekside leads off the second five. The Knights (7-1) move up 10 spots from the preseason poll after beating Trinity Christian, Providence, Beachside,15th-ranked Bolles (Jacksonville), and RV St. Joseph’s Academy (St. Augustine) and RV Clay (Green Cove Springs). Creekside, which has won seven in a row since an opening game loss to Spruce Creek, received the last first-place vote this week.
Providence moves up to No. 7, followed by Hernando (Brooksville) at No. 8, ninth-ranked Trinity Catholic (Ocala) and Buchholz (Gainesville) is 10th. The 6A state runner-up the last two seasons, Buchholz drops from No. 2 in the preseason poll to 10th after a 3-4 start.
Trinity Catholic, which wasn’t ranked in the preseason poll, moves all the way into the top 10 after a 7-1 start. The Celtics defeated Buchholz, then-No. 9 Episcopal (Jacksonville), then-No. 18 South Sumter (Bushnell), with their only loss coming at Berkeley Prep (Tampa).
Among the Mainstreet Daily News area teams in the second 10 are 16th-ranked Columbia (Lake City) and No. 17 Suwannee (Live Oak). Newberry, Union County (Lake Butler), and Saint Francis Catholic Academy (Gainesville) are receiving votes.
Besides Trinity Catholic, Bartram Trail is new to the poll along with 12th-ranked Vanguard (Ocala), Beachside, No. 19 Umatilla and 20th-ranked Fernandina Beach.
Dropping out of the preseason poll are Clay, Episcopal, University Christian, South Sumter, The Villages and St. Joseph Academy.
The Prep Zone Power Poll ranks the top 20 high school football, girls basketball, boys basketball, softball & baseball teams (regardless of FHSAA classification) across 26 counties in North Florida (Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Dixie, Duval, Flagler, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Hernando, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake, Levy, Madison, Marion, Nassau, Putnam, Sumter, St. Johns, Suwannee, Taylor, Union & Volusia counties). It is voted on by sportswriters and sportscasters and it is powered by Be Well Fitness.
