
- A 40-year-old Newberry man died at 8:30 p.m. Monday after his motorcycle hit the rear right side of an SUV on State Road 26 in Newberry.
- A pickup truck driven by a 28-year-old man from Horseshoe Beach was involved in the crash following the motorcycle's collision with the SUV.
A 40-year-old Newberry man died on Monday evening when his motorcycle collided with an SUV on State Road 26 west of SW 266th Street in Newberry.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the Newberry man was riding a dirt bike eastbound on the south shoulder of SR 26 (Newberry Road) around a half a mile west of NW 266th Street at 8:30 p.m. A 48-year-old Newberry man was driving an SUV westbound on SR 26 and made a left turn into a driveway access when the dirt bike struck the right side rear of the SUV.
A pickup truck, driven by a 28-year-old Horseshoe Beach man, was also involved after the initial collision.
Emergency responders pronounced the Newberry motorcycle rider dead on scene.
