A 49-year-old O’Brien woman died on Friday when a pickup truck ran a red light and collided with her sedan at the intersection of US Highway 27 and US Highway 129 east of Branford.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) release, the O’Brien woman was driving a Hyundai sedan north and approaching the intersection of US 27 at 12:30 p.m. The sedan entered the intersection on a green light when a pickup truck traveling east on US 27, approaching the intersection of US 129, driven by an 18-year-old Fort White man, failed to stop at the red light and struck the left side of the sedan.

The pickup truck, which also carried an 18-year-old Lake City woman and a 19-year-old Fort White man, overturned onto its right side. None of the three people in the pickup truck was injured.
