One person died Sunday evening after being shot in the 2600 block of NW 6th Street in Gainesville.
According to a Gainesville Police Department (GPD) release, officers responded around 9:20 p.m. to the 2600 block of NW 6th Street following reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found an individual suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
GPD detectives are investigating the incident and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
