According to an Alachua Police Department (APD) release, officers from APD, along with assistance from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) and High Springs Police Department, are currently on scene.

Students have been secured in a safe location and the school is currently on lockdown. A search is being conducted with the assistance of an ACSO K-9 unit.

No one is permitted on campus at this time and the APD is asking people to refrain from responding to the campus so law enforcement can ensure the safety of students, staff and first responders.
