UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital will host a free Zoom webinar, “Hope and Progress in Pediatric Cancer Care,” from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, offering families and community members an overview of pediatric cancer care from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship.
A child’s cancer diagnosis affects the entire family. The webinar will feature experts from UF Health Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Shands Hospital who will discuss advances in pediatric cancer treatment, supportive care services and the collaborative approach used to address the medical and emotional needs of children with cancer and their families.

The discussion will explore how pediatric cancer care is evolving through cancer research, novel treatments and multidisciplinary care. The presenters also will highlight the support available to children and families throughout the cancer journey, including survivorship.
The webinar is designed to provide families and the broader community with information about the progress being made in pediatric cancer care and the role of specialized teams in supporting children and their families.
