Alachua Conservation Trust will host the 75-mile Santa Fe Untamed virtual race to celebrate and raise funds for conservation along the Santa Fe River.
The event is part of ACT’s Santa Fe Untamed campaign, an effort to increase conservation along the Santa Fe River from 65% to 75% by protecting lands that sustain the river and preserving its wild character for future generations.
Participants can complete the 75-mile challenge by walking, running, paddling or biking. The miles do not have to be completed all at once or on consecutive days. Participants registered before Oct. 2 are guaranteed a medal upon completion; participants who register after that date will be given a medal while supplies last.
Participants also will have the opportunity to complete their final mile with others during ACT’s Santa Fe Untamed Virtual Race Celebration from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at ACT’s Prairie Creek Preserve.
The virtual race is intended to bring the community together to celebrate and explore North Central Florida’s natural beauty. Registration is $35, and proceeds will support conservation along the Santa Fe River as part of ACT’s broader Santa Fe Untamed campaign.

The race celebration will be held at Prairie Creek Preserve. Parking is available at Prairie Creek Lodge, 7204 SE County Road 234, Gainesville. Accessible trail options are available for participants with mobility challenges.
