
Chabad UF will host “Heart of Israel: Stories of Courage, Connection & a Taste of Israel” on Tuesday, Oct. 13, featuring personal stories from an Israeli combat veteran and two young American women who traveled to Israel following Oct. 7, 2023.
The event will start at 7 p.m. and will feature Israeli combat veteran Gal Eliyahu, who will share his personal story of military service, injury and recovery, as well as the resilience that helped carry him forward.
Tali Fiske and Janie Levitan, featured as “Wannabe Israelis,” will share their journey from American college life to Israel after Oct. 7. Their presentation will include a live food-board demonstration and tasting.
The event will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. at Chabad UF (2021 NW 5th Ave., Gainesville).
The program is open to students and community members ages 17 and older. RSVP and photo identification are required, and space is limited.
