ACSO arrests eschool student in Eastside bomb hoax

Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies arrested a Gainesville eSchool student Wednesday afternoon in connection with this morning’s Eastside High School bomb threat.

Reginal Copeland, 16, was charged with making a false bomb threat, using a two-way communication device to commit a felony and interfering with a school function, according to an ASCO report. This marks the first student from an eSchool taken into custody following a wave of 18 Alachua County public school bomb threats since Aug. 19 that included this morning’s Eastside High false report.

It marked the third ACSO arrest Wednesday, following Ta’Nasia Robinson, 16, of Gainesville and Demarcus Payton, 15, of Gainesville. Robinson in connection to false bomb threats to Eastside High on Tuesday and Sept. 28. Payton is accused of making false threats to Eastside on Oct. 1.
