
Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) deputies arrested Craig Lee two days after the suspect allegedly stabbed a woman in Newberry on Monday.
Law enforcement located and apprehended Lee, 61, at the 25000 block on NW 7th Avenue in Newberry at 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday, according to ACSO spokesperson Kaley Behl.
“It was good investigative skills that got him,” Behl said. “[Deputies] arrested him and brought him to the sheriff’s office for an interview and will be taking him to jail.”
Lee allegedly stabbed a woman Monday morning at 26800 NW 3rd Place and fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
ACSO used a helicopter and K-9 units to search for the suspect and place local Newberry schools on secure mode during the manhunt.
Lee is being charged with premeditated first degree homicide murder and is being held in the Alachua County Jail on a $500,000 bond and
