Murder suspect flees Lake City police

A Hillsborough County murder suspect eluded Lake City police on Wednesday night and remains at large.

Around 7:08 p.m., the Lake City Police Department (LCPD) obtained the location of Katrell Montan Hubbard, 26, who is currently wanted in Hillsborough County for second degree murder, according to an LCPD release.

Officers attempted to pull over Hubbard, who was driving a 2008 Chevrolet sedan, but the suspect refused to stop and, following a brief chase, he crashed his vehicle at the intersection of Main Boulevard and Duval Street. Hubbard then exited the vehicle and fled north.

Katrell Montan Hubbard

Law enforcement—including Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Florida Highway Patrol officers—established a perimeter and, along with the help of several K-9 units, were unable to locate Hubbard.

LCPD considers Hubbard armed and dangerous and advises anyone who spots him not to approach him. At the time of the incident, he was wearing red pants and no shirt. Hubbard is a black male with brown eyes, is 5-10 and 135 pounds.

Authorities ask anyone with information on Hubbard’s whereabouts to call the LCPD TIPS line at 386-719-2068 or Crime Stoppers of Columbia County at 386-754-7099.
