Former Eastside High School and UF quarterback Anthony Richardson will host a youth football camp and parent summit on Saturday, June 21, at Citizens Park in Gainesville.
Registration for the free camp will start at 8 a.m. at 1100 NE 14th St., with more than 250 youth athletes ages 6-16 expected to participate. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
“This is about more than football,” said Richardson, a quarterback with the Indianapolis Colts, in a press release. “It’s about showing kids that with hard work, discipline, and the right support, they can achieve anything on the field and in life.”
The camp will offer a safe, supportive environment for young players to sharpen their skills and grow both on and off the field. A camp T-shirt and lunch will be provided.
This event will also include a parent summit, hosted by Richardson’s mom, LaShawnda Cleare, to provide parents with expert-led conversations on crucial topics like financial literacy, mental health, legal services and more, to equip families with tools to support their young athletes through every stage of their journey.
