Auschwitz survivor to speak at International Holocaust Remembrance Day

Auschwitz survivor Helga Melmed will speak at the Chabad UF Jewish Student & Community Center on Monday, Jan. 27, in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The doors will open at 7 p.m. and the program begins at 7:30 p.m. at 2021 NW 5th Ave. in Gainesville. Admission is free, with donations appreciated. Guests are encouraged to RSVP at JewishGator.com/HRD.

Melmed, born in Berlin in 1928, will share her story of survival, resilience, and hope after enduring Auschwitz and labor camps. Today, she inspires audiences worldwide with her courage and refusal to let hatred define her life.
