The Bread of the Mighty Food Bank (BOTM) will host a large-scale food distribution event at Chiefland Methodist Church on Friday.
BOTM, a branch of Feeding Northeast Florida, will start the event at 9:30 a.m. at 707 N. Main St. in Chiefland.
Fresh produce, locally sourced beef and shelf-stable goods will be provided as the distributed event will be equipped to serve up to 400 households on a client-choice, walk-up pantry model. The food is available on a first-come, first-served basis as supplies last.
Quincey Cattle Company, a local Chiefland cattle ranch, will provide the beef, which was purchased through the Local Food Purchase Assistance Cooperative Agreement Program (LFPA), a USDA program that provides funds to food banks to purchase food from local farmers.
