The Morningside Nature Center will host its annual Cane Boil and Fiddle Fest on Saturday.

The festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 25 at 3540 E. University Ave. in Gainesville.

Enjoy the afternoon as local musicians accompany your exploration as you sample fresh cane syrup and biscuits, experience cane grinding and mid to late-nineteenth-century traditional skills demonstrations, and live historic-breed farm animals.

Mainstreet does not have a paywall, but pavement-pounding journalism is not free. Join your neighbors who make this vital work possible.

Visitors can watch demonstrations of historic skills, shop vendor’s wares, and join in traditional games and crafts. There will also be tours of the log cabin and historic interpreters as they go about a day in the life of 1870.

The free event is open to the public.
