Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) deputies responded on Monday afternoon to a call regarding an armed disturbance in Archer.
According to ASO spokesperson Art Forgey, deputies responded to the report around 1:20 p.m. at 14805 SW Archer Lane.
“Upon arrival, the caller no longer wanted law enforcement and the other party involved had left the residence,” Forgey reported.
Archer Elementary School held bus-riding students until deputies knew what was going on, Forgey said, but “car-riding students were dismissed as usual.”
Deputies located one party walking away and found a concealed firearm in his backpack. At this time he is being charged with aggravated assault and carrying a concealed firearm.
Forgey added that the investigation is still ongoing as deputies continue to establish what occurred.
