Dixie county crash kills teen, injures 2

A 14-year-old Old Town girl died Friday night after a vehicle broadsided the car she was riding in, according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). 

FHP reported the accident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of State Road 349 and NE 389th Avenue, which is a few miles north of Old Town. 

A 16-year-old Old Town boy was traveling north on State Road 349 when he attempted to make a left turn onto NE 389th Avenue. A southbound vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old Bell man, struck the car on the passenger side, where the 14-year-old girl was seated, according to the FHP report.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and suffered serious injuries. FHP did not report whether the 14-year-old girl was wearing a seatbelt, but she died at the scene. 

First responders took the two drivers to UF Health in Gainesville for treatment. 

FHP said an investigation into the crash is still ongoing.

What was the name of the guy that caused the accident

Unfortunately, the Florida Highway Patrol reports do not include the names of the people involved.
