Firefighters responded to a single-family house ablaze early Saturday morning.
According to Gainesville Fire Rescue (GFR) assistant chief Stephen Hesson, GFR were dispatched around 6:07 a.m. to the blaze near 800 NW 5th Ave.
GFR found an advanced fire that had extended to a parked vehicle in the front yard. No injuries were reported and 17 firefighters extinguished the blaze in around 14 minutes.
A large amount of storage and significant fire load hindered firefighter search efforts, the GFR release stated, adding that a working smoke alarm and all occupants safely evacuated prior to GFR’s arrival. Three neighbors were displaced by the fire.
GFR will continue to investigation the incident to determine the fire’s origin and cause.
