The Gainesville Police Department (GPD) is seeking information in an Aug. 17 hit-and-run incident that led to a pedestrian’s death.
At 9:20 p.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound on SE Hawthorne Road near the intersection of SE 15th Street hit a pedestrian. The vehicle continued traveling eastbound. The pedestrian hit later died from the injuries sustained in the collision.
GPD reported the vehicle is possibly a silver Mercedes with a blue hood and a loud exhaust.
