LCSO makes eight arrests in major drug bust

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) recently announced a major drug bust that resulted in eight arrests in Williston.

According to LCSO Undersheriff Brett Beauchamp, the raid could have been termed “Operation Groundhog Day,” because the double-wide mobile home residence has a history of drug activity.

“The deputies were well familiar with the location as this was the third narcotics search warrant that has been executed at this residence in less than a year,” Beauchamp wrote on the LCSO blog about the search warrant executed on May 13. “Multiple drug overdoses have occurred at the residence as well as two drug-related deaths.”

Detectives seized significant amounts of drug paraphernalia, cash, heroin, methamphetamine and prescription pills at the home.

They also arrested the following people:

1. Michael J. Harvey, 51, the owner of the property, faces drug possession and “maintaining a drug dwelling” charges. His bond was set at $100,000.00.

2. Stephen J. Weintraut, 36, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia located in a pair of pants. Weintraut admitted, “I was wearing the pants, but they’re not mine.” His bond was set at $25,000.00.

3. Brittney Nicole Rosensweet, 31, faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges. LCSO officers discovered additional narcotics on her person upon entering the Levy County Detention Center and added a charge for smuggling contraband. Her bond was set at $125,000.00.

4. Stephen Clark Mimbs, 61, faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges. His bond was set at $35,000.00.

5. David Wayne Morris, 56, faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges. His bond was set at $75,000.00.

6. Jacqueline Marie Holden, 54, faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges. Her bond was set at $75,000.00.

7. Derek Kyle Abrams, 37, faces drug possession and paraphernalia charges. His bond was set at $85,000.00. Abrams was also arrested on a violation of probation warrant from Marion County for a previous meth charge, so LCSO reported holding him without bond on the warrant.

8. Daniel D. Ackley, 30, faces a charge of failure to appear on a driving with suspended license charge. His bond was set at $5,000.00.

“Unfortunately this case demonstrates the problems that illegal drugs and repeat offenders continue to cause in our communities,” Sheriff Bobby McCallum said. “This one location has caused thousands of dollars to be spent for investigative and court costs. It is a tremendous drain on taxpayer resources and the loss of human life is a real tragedy.”
