County adds vaccine data to COVID-19 recovery dashboard

The Alachua County COVID-19 Recovery Dashboard now includes daily updates of the number of vaccines administered to residents.

According to Mark Sexton, communications and legislative affairs director for Alachua County, the addition of the data will keep residents informed about the progress of the vaccination effort.

“While Alachua County and its cities have no authority for how the vaccine decision making works, we are all supporting the Department of Health in Alachua County, UF Health Shands, and NFRMC in their efforts as the agencies receive those vaccines,” Sexton said.

On Jan. 8, Sexton reported 992 vaccinations administered on Jan. 7th.

When visiting the recovery dashboard viewers will see the daily report of vaccinations and then below that a total vaccinations cumulative chart is displayed.

“Since the program began in mid-December, there have been 12,541 vaccinations,” Sexton said.

Other information available on the dashboard includes daily fatalities, positive and negative case reports, average hospital occupancy, and both daily and 14-day average positivity rates.

The dashboard is operated with emergency operations software and new data is entered daily by an employee at the Alachua County Health Department.
