Pedestrian in critical condition after being struck by vehicle in Columbia County

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that occurred at approximately 2:28 am this morning near the intersection of US-90 and Northeast Craig Avenue in Columbia County.

According to the FHP report, a sedan, driven by a 31-year-old Lake City man, was traveling west on US-90. A pedestrian walked into the path of the vehicle, and the front of vehicle struck the pedestrian, a 36-year-old female from Fort White. The pedestrian was transported to UF Health of Gainesville and is in critical condition.

This crash is still under investigation.
