A 37-year-old O’Brien woman died Tuesday afternoon when her SUV traveled off State Road 247 and collided with two signal supports before crashing into a standing tree in Columbia County.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, the woman was driving south on SR 247 and was approaching the intersection at SW Callahan Avenue at 4:25 p.m. when her SUV left the roadway. The vehicle collided with two signal supports and then entered private property and crashed into a standing tree.

Emergency responders transported her to HCA Lake City Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
