A 3-year-old Trenton boy died Sunday evening when he approached a pickup entering a private yard and was struck by the vehicle.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) report, a 42-year-old Trenton man was driving a pickup and was turning left into a private yard off SW 85th Place west of Trenton at 6:56 p.m. when the toddler approached the vehicle while it was in motion.
The pickup driver did not see the toddler and the pickup’s left rear tire struck the 3-year-old.
Emergency responders pronounced the toddler dead en route to a nearby medical air transport landing zone.
