
The Foundation for the Promotion of Music will present its annual Guest Artist Recital featuring the Gainesville Brass Quintet at the Historic Thomas Center on Sunday.

The performance will run from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Historic Thomas Center, located at 302 NE 6 Ave. in Gainesville.
The free recital will feature the talented members of the quintet: Charles Proper on trombone, Cliff Newton and Joe Jamerson on trumpets, Will Winter on French Horn and Casey Wood on tuba.
The audience will enjoy a range of musical selections, from Broadway tunes to Classical pieces, showcasing the versatility and skill of the performers.

The performance will honor the memory of Bill Dishman who was the founder of the quintet decades ago. Bill was a public school band director and mentored UF music student interns. He taught music to special needs students within the public schools. He also taught private trumpet lessons and was an adjunct trumpet instructor at three local colleges
