Students in the Oak Hall School Junior Classical League (JCL) recently competed at the Florida Junior Classical League (FJCL) Fall Forum, bringing home a collection of academic awards.

According to an Oak Hall press release, several students earned top-three placements in at least one of their academic tests.

“Our students have worked incredibly hard, and this achievement reflects not only their mastery of classical studies but also their commitment to one another,” Benjamin Ream, Oak Hall JCL sponsor, said in the release.

In addition to the student’s individual achievements, Oak Hall also secured first place in all four levels of Certamen, the highly competitive classics quiz bowl, marking the first statewide sweep by any school since 2017, the release said.

“Certamen requires quick recall, deep understanding, and seamless collaboration,” Ream said. “Sweeping all four levels is a testament to the passion and perseverance our students bring to the program. We couldn’t be prouder.”
